The redesigned 2027 Chrysler Pacifica minivan is shaping up to be a significant upgrade, borrowing styling cues from the striking Halcyon concept that debuted in 2024 and giving the aging model a much-needed refresh. While spy photos capture heavy camouflage, they reveal enough to suggest a bold departure from its current appearance.
One of the most noticeable changes will be at the front. The redesigned nose appears to mimic the angular lines and prominent leading edge seen on the Halcyon concept. This creates a more aggressive and futuristic look compared to the relatively subdued design of the current Pacifica, which was launched in 2016 with a minor refresh in 2021. Sharper LED projector headlights and the possibility of a large illuminated Chrysler badge further enhance the updated aesthetic.
The rear end seems to be less dramatically altered, with potential changes limited to revised graphics for the LED taillights unless a more significant redesign lurks beneath the camouflage concealing the D-pillar area.
However, the interior appears to be undergoing the most extensive transformation. Peeking through the windows reveals a redesigned dashboard and what looks like a substantially larger touchscreen infotainment system, promising a more modern and tech-savvy cabin experience.
Perhaps the most intriguing detail is hinted at by a sticker on one of the sliding doors. It suggests that Chrysler may introduce “kick-to-open” functionality for its sliding doors, mimicking technology already found on some trunk lids. This could prove convenient for busy parents or anyone juggling groceries and children. Of course, the reliability of such systems remains to be seen, as they’ve sometimes proven inconsistent in the past.
While these spy photos shed no light on engine options, speculation abounds. Stellantis’s new 324 hp Hurricane 4 Turbocharged four-cylinder engine could be a strong contender for the Pacifica. This powerplant offers more horsepower than the current V6 options while remaining hybrid compatible – making it a compelling choice if Chrysler chooses to adopt it.
The updated Pacifica is expected to hit dealerships as a 2027 model sometime next year, potentially coinciding with similar styling revisions for the more affordable Voyager sibling.
