Xpeng has announced twelve distinct range configurations for its Mona M03 electric sedan, extending from 485 km (299 miles) to 640 km (398 miles) under CLTC testing standards. This expansion caters to a broader spectrum of consumer preferences and reinforces the vehicle’s position in the highly competitive Chinese EV market. While an official launch date remains unconfirmed, the new options signify Xpeng’s commitment to continuous improvement and customer choice.
Battery and Range Details
The Mona M03 now offers three battery capacity options sourced from EVE Energy: 51.8 kWh, 61.6 kWh, and 62.2 kWh. The 51.8 kWh version delivers six range options between 485 km and 540 km. The 61.6 kWh offers four range configurations, reaching up to 610 km. Finally, the larger 62.2 kWh battery provides the longest ranges at 640 km and 625 km.
Corresponding curb weights vary slightly, increasing from 1,675 kg for the smallest battery to 1,739 kg for the largest. The current Mona M03 already provides four range options, but this expansion widens the available choices for potential buyers.
Performance and Dimensions
The electric motor maintains its output of 160 kW (215 hp), with a top speed of 170 km/h. The vehicle’s dimensions are 4785 mm in length, 1896 mm in width, and 1445 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2815 mm. Notably, the new model is 5 mm longer than its predecessor.
Design Updates
Visually, the Mona M03 retains the fastback design, distinctive T-shaped headlights, and taillights of the original model. Updates include minor adjustments to the front and rear bumpers, along with the addition of air vent-like elements on the rear bumper. Tire options include 215/50R18 and 235/40R19.
Market Success
The Mona M03 has already achieved significant market penetration. Just 14 months after its launch in August 2024, it exceeded 200,000 units sold, making it the leading A-segment pure electric sedan in China’s rapidly growing new energy vehicle sector. This success highlights the vehicle’s appeal to Chinese consumers and Xpeng’s ability to meet demand.
The expansion of range options for the Mona M03 further solidifies its position as a dominant player in China’s EV market, showcasing Xpeng’s responsiveness to customer preferences and commitment to continuous innovation.
