Porsche Celebrates 75 Years Down Under With Four Custom Builds

25

Porsche is commemorating its 75th anniversary in Australia with a unique collection of four bespoke vehicles. Rather than creating strictly one-off models, the German automaker is showcasing the full extent of its customization capabilities – and allowing customers to recreate the looks if they’re willing to pay the price. The limited-edition cars, inspired by Australia’s diverse landscapes, include versions of the Panamera, Taycan, Macan, and Cayenne, all built through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and the Sonderwunsch program.

A Directional Approach to Customization

The collection is themed around the four cardinal directions, each car embodying a distinct region and aesthetic. This isn’t just about aesthetics; it highlights how Porsche can translate regional character into automotive design. The availability of these specifications through the official configurator is noteworthy, as it proves these aren’t unattainable, exclusive commissions, but rather highly customizable options for those with deep pockets.

Going North: Rainforest-Inspired Panamera

The Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid takes on a rainforest theme, finished in Emerald Green Metallic paint with Neodyme 21-inch wheels and Acid Green accents. Inside, Espresso Club leather upholstery is paired with Night Green stitching and Eucalyptus wood trim. Details like illuminated scuff plates reading “Go North” and a matching key further cement the theme. The inclusion of an optional Porsche Performance roof box suggests the company wants to encourage real-world exploration.

Going East: Surf Culture Taycan

The Taycan 4S Cross Turismo draws inspiration from Australia’s Pacific coast surf culture. Its Ipanema Blue Metallic exterior is complemented by high-gloss black 21-inch wheels featuring Crayon aero blades, evoking coral formations. The interior mixes Black and Crayon leather, with Dark Night Blue seat inserts and Speed Blue stitching, mirroring the warm sands and shade of eastern beaches. A panoramic roof with Variable Light Control and bespoke key complete the package.

Going West: Outback-Ready Cayenne

The Cayenne S pays homage to Western Australia’s Outback with an Ipanema Brown Metallic finish and white decals. Equipped with the optional Off-Road package, it includes rock rails, skid plates, extra underbody protection, and a compass, preparing it for true off-road adventures. The interior features Black leather with Bordeaux Red inserts, echoing indigenous rock formations.

Going South: Volcanic Macan

The all-electric Macan 4S is styled as a tribute to the southern coastlines, with Gold Bronze Metallic paint and 22-inch RS Spyder wheels in Vesuvius Grey. The Off-Road Design package adds Vesuvius Grey skid plates, while Glacier Blue accents appear in the headlights and taillight strip. Inside, Black and Chalk Beige leather is punctuated by orange highlights, mirroring South Australia’s volcanic landscapes.

The absence of a 911 from this collection is an interesting omission. However, given the directional theme, it makes logical sense; the four cardinal directions neatly align with the four models chosen.

Ultimately, these vehicles demonstrate Porsche’s ability to not only build high-performance cars but also tailor them to specific cultural and geographical contexts. The fact that customers can replicate these designs through official channels signifies a shift towards accessible exclusivity, blurring the line between bespoke commissions and premium options.
