Instead of waiting in the intake manifold, fuel goes straight into the combustion chamber. A high-pressure injector sits right in the head of the cylinder. The engine management computer times this precisely. Fuel burns exactly where it is needed. Exactly when it is needed.

This precision allows for higher compression ratios. It allows for finer control over the air-fuel mixture. The result is better fuel economy. More power. Lower emissions.
